The successful applicant will participate in a dynamic, international collaborative research project to determine virologic and host factors associated with influenza virus host switching. It is envisaged that the individual will spend time in the St Jude Departments of Infectious Diseases and Immunology and will be exposed to cutting edge methodologies in each discipline. While not required, expertise in basic microbial techniques and cell culture would be of benefit. Utilization of animal models will be required.
