Postdoctoral Research Associate in Neuroscience / Neurobiology
The Bikoff lab (https://www.bikofflab.org/) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in using quantitative approaches to behavior, in vivo calcium imaging, and optogenetics/chemogenetics to study neural circuitry in mice.
We aim to understand the functional organization of neural circuits that control movement, including how descending pathways from the brain interact with spinal circuits to implement motor output. The lab approaches this problem from multiple perspectives, using mouse genetics, single-cell transcriptomics, viral tracing and whole-brain imaging, and animal behavior to explore the role of molecularly discrete subsets of neurons in motor control. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds that would thrive in a highly collaborative, interactive, and supportive environment that provides the freedom to independently develop a research project.
