Postdoctoral fellowship positions are available for highly motivated individuals interested in one of the following projects:


- synaptic and neuronal mechanisms in schizophrenia (with focus on mouse

models of 22q11 deletion syndrome); 

- plasticity in the auditory cortex (imaging of neuronal activity in awake mice);

- synaptic and neuronal deficits in Williams-Beuren syndrome (with focus on the

auditory cortex and amygdala in mice).


The fellow will benefit from both the outstanding work environment in the laboratory and the highly collaborative St. Jude community. The successful candidate will join a diverse team of researchers whose effort is to understand behavior at the levels of neural circuits, individual neurons, synapses, and molecules. The laboratory is a part of the Department of Developmental Neurobiology. Members have access to specialized departmental shared resources, including an integrated support structure for rodent behavior testing, 3-dimensional brain organoids, in vivo and ex vivo cellular imaging, bioinformatics, production of genetically engineered animal models, single-cell profiling, and advanced image processing and analysis. In addition, numerous institutional shared resources and core facilities support the laboratory by providing expertise and state-of-the-art technologies. The lab is equipped to perform single-cell electrophysiology, two-photon imaging, and two-photon glutamate uncaging in brain slices and in awake behaving animals.

Minimum Education

Preference will be given to applicants who have received their Ph.D. degrees in mathematics, computer science, physics, neuroscience or engineering within the last 3 years and have experience in computational neuroscience, data mining using machine learning methods. Experience in Python or R is required.
