We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoc Research Associate to join Dr. Ji Sun’s lab at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Successful candidates will lead research projects focusing on structural mechanisms of membrane proteins and protein machineries. We use cryo-EM, biophysical, electrophysiological and biochemical approaches to study the function of membrane proteins and protein complexes (Sun, NSMB 2020; Sun and Mackinnon, Cell 2020; Sun and MacKinnon, Cell 2017). The lab has fully access to the state-of-the-art cryo-EM facility in St. Jude, which houses a 300kV Titan Krios and a 200 kV Talos Arctica electron microscopes, both equipped with K3 detectors. For more details, please visit https://www.stjude.org/sun or directly contact Dr. Ji Sun (email@example.com).
The ideal candidate should have: (1) a PhD degree in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics or related fields. (2) project management and scientific writing experience. (3) good communication skills and a collaborative attitude. Additional expertise in cell imaging and structural biology (single particle cryo-EM or X-ray crystallography) would be a plus, but not required.
