  • Summary

    The Yang Laboratory is seeking creative and highly motivated candidates for a fully supported postdoctoral fellowship studying the epigenetic alterations of solid tumors and leukemia. The major interests of the lab are to study how alterations of histone demethylases causes cancer progression and therapy resistance, and to develop novel treatments to target histone demethylases.

     

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Generate isogenic immortalized cell lines using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing
    • RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C
    • Generate leukemia or solid tumor models using conditional knockout and transgenic systems
    • Establish Ex Vivo disease models and engraft patient-derived xenografts
    • Test the therapeutic efficacy of novel inhibitors using in vivo and in vitro cancer models
    • Writing first author manuscript

    Minimum Education

    Successful applicants will have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, genetics or a related field.

     

    To succeed in this position, applicants must have a strong cell and molecular biology background and an interest in working with in vivo model systems. Applicants with expertise in genome editing, computational biology, and working with hematopoietic stem cells, flow cytometry, and genetic models are desirable.
